Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, proactive and self-motivated physiotherapist, with excellent caseload management and communication skills to work within the Short Term Support Service Team within the Alnwick locality. This role aims to enable patients with a wide variety of conditions to be as independent as possible within their own environment by providing specialist physiotherapy assessment and interventions. The team comprises of registered Physiotherapists, registered Occupational Therapists, Technical Instructors and Occupational Therapy Assistants. If you would like to discuss the post further, we welcome visits from interested candidates. The successful candidate will need to be flexible in their approach to the role. We follow an integrated therapeutic approach to client intervention and are looking to recruit people with a broad experience within MSK, falls, neurological conditions and general elderly frail conditions/ multiple co morbidities.

Responsibilities

  • Triage and prioritise new referrals received into the service
  • Responsible for a designated varied caseload of patients: organise this effectively and efficiently with regards to clinical priorities and use of time
  • Undertake a comprehensive assessment of patients including those with diverse or complex presentations using clinical reasoning skills
  • Support patients with individualised goal setting, education and care plans to work towards fulfilling their potential in a goal orientated way, working in partnership with patients, relatives, reablement staff, and externally with other agencies
  • Complete all required training and ensure own continued professional development
  • Provide line management, supervision, support, guidance and training to Technical Instructors and students
