Overview
We are looking to recruit a highly motivated and enthusiastic team player who can demonstrate high standards of administrative skills to join the Medico Legal Team. The successful candidate will be based at Seaton Delaval on a permanent contract and may be required to work on other sites within the Trust to ensure a high quality service is provided at all times. The role is demanding and requires the ability to work under pressure. Full training will be provided to allow the successful candidate to work as part of the team.

Responsibilities
- Provide timely, accurate and comprehensive computer input into the Medico-Legal database to achieve efficient recording and processing of Medico-Legal and Subject Access requests.
- Assist customers who may have communication difficulties or be aggressive and abusive, while maintaining a professional and courteous manner.
- Work to designated time frames and maintain good working relationships to enable clear channels of communication.
- Work as a flexible member of the team providing support to colleagues and keep supervisors informed of progress, referring any potential problems that arise.
- Use NHS computer technology and software (e.g. PAS, Mediviewer, e-mail, relational databases) and demonstrate good keyboard skills, numeracy and literacy.
- Provide non-clinical Subject Access Requests advice to patients and third parties.
- Follow national, corporate and local policies and procedures in all areas of work.
- Act in a professional and courteous manner when dealing with all disciplines of staff, suppliers and members of the public.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Good knowledge and understanding of Subject Access Requests and the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).
- Good interpersonal skills for effective communication with colleagues and third parties.
- Ability to prioritise and organise workload with changing priorities to meet national guidelines for release of patient information.
- Flexibility to cover various shifts, including weekends and Bank Holidays, as required by the service.
