The predicted salary is between 30000 - 42000 £ per year.

This role involved undertaking day to day maintenance duties outlined by the Works Officers or Scheduler in line with your level of qualification and training; completing work orders and recording information directed by departmental process requirements as well as materials or parts used.

Surveying and/or troubleshooting systems in line with your trades / professions. Drafting of installation plans and technical diagrams. Ensuring existing systems and / or tasks conducted adhere to all relevant legislative and regulatory requirements. As such ensuring that your skills, awareness, and knowledge is maintained in line with the most current legislation and or regulations. Using schematics, drawings, technical specifications, O&Ms and / or plans as required and or necessary in the conduct of duties related to your trades / professions. Undertake continuous professional and educational development in line with your career pathway.

Ensure compliance with regards to organisational mandatory training requirements as well as cyclical training, requalification or re-certification requirements associated with your trade or profession. If not already held – undertake additional qualifications and training up to a level 2 in the secondary trade to enable multi skilled working. You will be responsible for day-to-day maintenance activities of the Trusts assets as directed by the Maintenance Works Officers and Scheduler.

  • Be responsible for carrying out maintenance of the Trusts assets through undertaking directed duties assigned by the works officers and scheduler.
  • Undertake installation work in-line with trade qualifications and experience.
  • Support the wider Estates team by providing multi skilled trade capabilities for minor works including electrical, mechanical and building related tasks.
  • Undertake unsupervised routine maintenance work and repairs in line with your trades / professions.
  • Carry out such duties as may be delegated by the Technicians, Works officers or Scheduler, should be able to work amicably with all other trades, and should be willing to assist other trades if required.
  • Undertake continuous professional development and training to enhance and improve skills, capabilities and crafts / engineering knowledge.

The Craftspersons primary task and responsibility is to undertake the day to day maintenance, servicing, repair and installation work on the full range of infrastructure, equipment and estate assets across all areas of their main designated trade and / or profession. Secondary to this is the responsibility to not only be qualified in a secondary trade, but, additionally, be able to undertake maintenance, servicing, and installation work across areas of this secondary trade in line with their skill and qualification level.

The nature of the role will require interaction and work on all types of system, from drainage and sewage systems through to steam engineering, power generation or control systems. The Craftsperson should be prepared to undertake all manner of tasks on all manner of systems.

Responsibility exists to ensure that maintenance records, databases (such as the Computer Aided Facilities Management Suite) and spreadsheets are kept up to date with relevant information submitted on these platforms and existing data reviewed on a continual basis to ensure validity of records being maintained.
