An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Building Craftsperson to work at North Tyneside General Hospital. The successful candidate will work alongside the current team to maintain the hospital site and Cobalt Offices. The successful post holder will be involved in the day-to-day operations and maintenance of all building fabric within the Trust and non-Trust properties, including some installation work. They will work 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday and will also participate in the Estates on-call rota and emergency maintenance assistant on-call rota, undertaking essential out-of-hours on-call duties as directed.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and support building fabric across Trust and non-Trust sites.
  • Carry out installation work and joinery provision for client departments and business units.
  • Organise and prioritise own workload, work unsupervised, and demonstrate total commitment, versatility and flexibility.
  • Role-model compassionate and inclusive leadership: engage, enable and empower others; use coaching to promote learning and quality improvement; facilitate team working and collaboration within and across departments.

Qualifications

  • Significant experience in building services.
  • Versatile, able to handle conflicting priorities and work under pressure.
  • Computer literate with good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills to communicate with technical and non-technical personnel.
