Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (NHCT) is seeking to expand its Acute Medicine team and is looking to appoint a Consultant in Acute Medicine to work primarily at our Specialist Emergency Care Hospital, but also across other sites. Main duties of the job

Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to appoint a Consultant Acute Care Physician (ACP) at The Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital (on a full-time or part-time basis) with or without a specialist interest.

The post holder’s primary roles will be the provision of medical leadership for the Acute Medical Units and Same Day Emergency Care.

The recruitment process for the vacancy you have applied for is based upon the following key elements:

Qualification

  • MRCP
  • Fully registered on the UK General Medical Council’s Specialist Register or Specialist Registrars may apply if within 6 months of CCT at date of interview
  • Full accreditation with the appropriate Royal College
  • Full GMC Registration
  • Educational Qualification

Experience & Knowledge

  • Clinical training and experience in the relevant specialty, equivalent to that required to gain entry to the UK Certificate of Completed Training (CCT).
  • Experience of and commitment to teaching undergraduate and postgraduate medical staff.
  • Experience of and commitment to medical audit and quality improvement.
  • Experience of audit management
  • Teaching of non-medical health professionals.
