Job Purpose
Working closely with the HR Officer, to provide high-quality administrative support across a range of HR activities, ensuring processes run smoothly and efficiently and in compliance with employment legislation. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
Key Responsibilities
- HR Administration & Recruitment
- Administer all HR documentation relating to recruitment, including preparing shortlisting and interview packs
- Draft contracts of employment and collate payroll information
- Coordinate recruitment campaigns, including advertising vacancies within strict deadlines
- Liaise with managers to ensure recruitment processes are timely and compliant
- Maintain accurate HR records and filing systems in line with data protection requirements
- Support the organisation and delivery of staff induction programmes
- Arrange and coordinate training events
- Undertake HR induction sessions with new starters and ensure full induction is completed.
- Maintain accurate employee data and records
- Assist in compiling statistical information and producing HR reports
- Ensure compliance with relevant employment legislation and internal policies
- Provide guidance to candidates and employees on employment matters, terms and conditions, and HR policies
- Support managers with general HR-related queries
- Contribute to a positive team culture that promotes collaboration, innovation, and open communication
- Proactively support equality, diversity, and inclusion in all areas of work
- Undertake other duties appropriate to the nature, level, and grade of the post, as directed by the HR and Corporate Support Manager or Director of Finance and Resources.

Essential Criteria
- Knowledge
- Numeracy and literacy skills equivalent to GCSE level or equivalent qualification/experience
- Strong HR knowledge including employment legislation
- Must have HR qualification or be working towards it
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel (or equivalent systems)
- Ability to manage confidential information with discretion
- Experience working in a busy office environment as part of a team
- Experience providing general administrative and office support
- Experience interacting with members of the public or internal stakeholders
- Professional and methodical approach
