Transport Network Officer

As a Transport Network Officer, you will work within the Council’s Passenger Transport team, which comprises 14 staff members based at County Hall, Morpeth. Your primary role will be to arrange school and college transport for children and young people, as well as social services transport. You will also engage in activities such as assessing eligibility, child safeguarding, and implementing cost-saving initiatives. We seek a highly motivated self-starter with a passion for delivering excellent customer service and a commercial mindset. REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB Good general education, literate & numerate, with a passion for customer service. A team player with strong interpersonal skills, capable of effective communication with colleagues and the public, both orally and in writing. Experience in arranging transport for service users, including children, young people, and vulnerable adults, in line with school transport policies. Ability to undertake periodic route reviews of the school and social services transport network to ensure optimal use of public funds.
