This is an exciting opportunity for experienced Social Workers with post qualification experience, or social workers who have successfully completed the ASYE Programme to join Northumberland County Council Adults, Ageing & Wellbeing Directorate. The opportunity available is within our North Team based in Alnwick Fire Station, Alnwick or Macdonald House, Berwick-Upon-Tweed.

We are seeking committed and professional Social Workers who are determined to deliver excellent services to vulnerable individuals. In this role, you will conduct comprehensive assessments and enjoy a healthy balance of autonomy and support. You’ll manage your own caseload while receiving regular supervision and guidance from your Team Manager. A clear understanding of the Care Act and the Local Authority’s statutory duties is essential. Essential requirements:

  • Degree in Social Work (or equivalent), applicants must hold a Social Work England registration.
  • Applicants must have completed the UK Skills for Care ASYE programme.
  • Due to the nature of this role, it is an essential requirement that the post holder has a valid driving licence and has access to a car they can use for work purposes.
