We are looking for a Reablement Worker to join our Short-Term Support Service in North Northumberland (Berwick and surrounding area) on a permanent, 30‑hour contract. The successful candidate will be part of a team providing short‑term limited interventions to promote people’s independence. The role typically involves visiting people in their own homes and supporting them to regain their ability to carry out a range of day‑to‑day tasks. You will work with people to set personal goals and help them to achieve them. This may include personal care, meal preparation, improving mobility within the home, and helping people to get out into the community. Your focus will be on helping people to live their best life and the feeling of job satisfaction is second to none. Full training and supervision are provided and there are opportunities to develop a career in care.

About the service: Our Short‑Term Support Service provides reablement and rehabilitation to adults living in their own homes to help them regain independence after illness, hospital discharge, or to avoid unnecessary hospital admissions. The service also offers a bridging service for people waiting for a long‑term package of care. It runs from 7am to 10pm, seven days a week, with a rota that includes AM and PM shifts.

  • Personal care, including showering and dressing
  • Medication support

  • Improving mobility within the home
  • Shopping and laundry
  • Support to get out and about in the community

Requirements:

  • Experience is not essential; a full training programme will be provided
