Community Occupational Therapist Permanent | Full‑time (37 hours). We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist who is passionate about advancing their career in a highly rewarding role, making a real difference to the lives of residents and clients across Northumberland. The opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys variety in their day‑to‑day work and is eager to develop their Occupational Therapy expertise by supporting a diverse range of clients with a range of health and social care needs. This role will include an exciting opportunity to work into hospitals as part of a pilot focused on hospital discharges.
Responsibilities: The role is based within the Northumberland Countywide OT Service and includes supporting adults across Northumberland who experience functional challenges related to physical disabilities, mental health conditions, or learning disabilities. You will undertake assessments for basic and complex equipment, minor adaptations, major adaptations and manual handling assessments and recommendations, alongside working with Occupational Therapy Assistants, Technical Instructors and qualified Occupational Therapists in a multidisciplinary setting.
Qualifications: A degree in Occupational Therapy. Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
Benefits: 26 days annual leave plus public/bank holidays, rising to 31 days after 5 years of service (pro rata for part‑time employees). Automatic enrolment into the Local Government Pension Scheme. Flexi scheme (if applicable) – up to 2 days flexible leave available per month (pro rata for part‑time employees). Structured Occupational Therapy Preceptorship Programme lasting up to 12 months to support confident, autonomous practice.
