We are looking for experienced Social Workers (post‑qualification or successful ASYE) to join the Adults, Ageing & Wellbeing Directorate’s Substance and Alcohol Team (SaAT).
Key responsibilities
- Support adults affected by substance and alcohol misuse to improve wellbeing, promote abstinence and achieve recovery.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and manage a caseload with autonomy and supportive guidance from the Team Manager.
- Work collaboratively with health professionals, voluntary sector partners and community services to deliver person‑centred support.
- Develop expertise in complex safeguarding and substance misuse interventions, maintaining knowledge of the Care Act and the Local Authority’s statutory duties.
- Attend regular supervision and provide consistent reporting to team leadership.
Qualifications and experience
- Degree in Social Work and registration with Social Work England.
- Successfully completed the UK Skills for Care ASYE programme.
- Valid UK driving licence and ability to use a car for work purposes.
- Commitment to continuous professional development.
