Northumberland County Council is undergoing a major transformation to modernise how we work, strengthen leadership, and create a modern, inclusive, and high‑performing organisation that puts residents first. This role is part of the redesign of our Organisational Development & Culture (OD&C) service and focuses on driving digital change across the organisation.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support readiness for digital transformation, translating organisational priorities into practical, user‑centred solutions.
- Design and deliver digital capability and adoption solutions, often around Microsoft365 and other smart digital products.
- Use campaigns, communication, learning, and practical support to increase adoption of digital products and help colleagues work more efficiently.
- Diagnose organisational and behavioural challenges and collaborate with leaders to shape evidence‑led solutions that build capability and embed new ways of working.
- Connect digital enablement with OD practice, ensuring solutions are relevant, applied, and aligned to organisational priorities.
Qualifications
- Experience supporting digital adoption and building workforce confidence in digital tools.
- Strong understanding of the digital workplace (e.g., Microsoft365) and its role in modern ways of working.
- Practical, user‑centred approach to helping colleagues adopt and sustain new ways of working.
- Experience designing and delivering digital capability or adoption solutions.
- Confidence supporting behaviour change and addressing barriers to digital adoption.
- Ability to translate organisational priorities into practical, accessible solutions that improve how people work.
- OD Generalist Foundation – strong organisational development foundation alongside digital skills expertise.
