Role Overview
The role is to support colleagues and senior professional and managerial staff in the provision of Development Management services. The primary focus is on the technical expertise required to assist with the processing and appraisal of planning applications, including site visits, evidence collection, assessment of proposals and the servicing of Planning Committees. The role may also involve preparation for planning appeals.
Responsibilities
- Process planning applications, undertaking site visits and collecting evidence.
- Assist with assessment of proposals and the servicing of Planning Committees.
- Prepare for planning appeals.
- Travel to development sites and other work areas as required.
Qualifications and Experience
- Good standard of general education, preferably a degree (planning related desirable).
- Experience working in a planning service with a sound knowledge of Development Management processes and procedures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Oracle applications, spatial planning data and GIS systems.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a car.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Pro‑active approach to problem solving and performance management.
