Contract: Full Time (Part-Time Applications Considered)

Salary: £35,412 - £39,152. A Market Force Allowance of £3,452 may be applied to the main scale band depending on experience.

Overview: Northumberland Skills, part of Northumberland County Council, seeks an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Lecturer in Electrical Engineering to join our Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering team at the Energy Central Campus in Blyth. This role will support full‑time learners and apprentices, developing their skills, knowledge and industry behaviours for careers in engineering, manufacturing and renewable energy.

About the Role:

  • Deliver engaging, high‑quality teaching, training and assessment to full‑time learners and apprentices.
  • Support learners from Entry Level through to Level 3 programmes.
  • Develop learners’ practical skills, technical knowledge and industry behaviours.
  • Create an engaging and inclusive learning environment that enables learners to thrive.
  • Work closely with employers to ensure programmes meet current industry needs.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement activities.
  • Monitor learner progress and support learners to achieve their qualifications and career goals.
  • Maintain high standards of quality, compliance and learner experience.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A Level 3 qualification or above in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Significant industry experience within the electrical engineering sector.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to delivering outstanding learning experiences and learner outcomes.
  • Teaching qualification and assessor qualification desirable; support will be provided to achieve these while in post.
