About the role
Northumberland County Council is looking for experienced Social Workers with post‑qualification experience or those who have successfully completed the ASYE Programme to join the Adults, Ageing & Wellbeing Directorate.
This position is Permanent, full time (37 hours per week) based at West Care and Support, Dene Park House, Hexham.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments for adults aged 18 and over.
- Manage a caseload while receiving regular supervision and guidance from Advanced Social Work Practitioners and the Team Manager.
- Work closely with partner agencies—including drug and alcohol services, mental health practitioners, health professionals, housing services, the police and children’s social care—to ensure coordinated and effective support.
- Apply the Care Act and the local authority’s statutory duties in service provision.
Qualifications
- Degree in Social Work and registered with Social Work England.
- Successfully completed the UK Skills for Care ASYE programme.
- Valid UK driving licence and access to a car for work purposes.
