We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to join our Joint Equipment Loan Service (JELS) on a 12‑month fixed‑term basis. This key leadership role supports the delivery of vital equipment to vulnerable people in our communities. You will work closely with the Senior Team Leader to ensure efficient day‑to‑day running of the warehouse and delivery service, meeting performance targets and maintaining high standards of safety, service, and care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and support warehouse staff, providing leadership, guidance and first‑line support.
  • Plan, organise and monitor daily workloads, including deliveries, collections and refurbishment.
  • Ensure service targets (emergency, urgent and routine deliveries, recycling rates) are met.
  • Support staff development, including training, inductions and one‑to‑one supervision.
  • Maintain equipment to required standards, including servicing, repair and PAT testing.
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety, infection control and relevant regulations (e.g. PUWER, LOLER).
  • Coordinate and adapt delivery routes and workloads in response to changing priorities.
  • Lead on audits, quality checks and service improvements.
  • Deputise for the Senior Team Leader when required.

Qualifications

  • Dynamic, innovative, committed and passionate, with excellent communication skills and the ability to influence and challenge.
  • Flexible and willing to learn new skills as appropriate to the post.
  • Excellent time‑management, decision‑making and IT skills (Word, Outlook, Excel, Oracle, etc.).
  • Good organisational and prioritisation skills with the ability to work under pressure.

In‑service training will be given, along with regular supervision and yearly appraisal.
