Permanent / part-time position of 24.5 hours per week at Tynedale House, Blyth.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook meals for residents, including special diets.
- Use and maintain catering tools and equipment.
- Ensure health and safety standards and manual handling procedures.
- Work 7-hour shifts on a 2-week rota: Mon, Tues, Sat, Sun – and Wed, Thu, Fri.
Qualifications
- Basic food hygiene certificate.
- Knowledge of catering tasks and equipment.
- Knowledge of health & safety and manual handling training.
- Relevant kitchen experience (food preparation, cooking).
- Willingness to learn to prepare meals for specialised diets.
Pay and Hours
- Starting salary £13.26 per hour (£25,583–£25,989 FTE).
- Payable enhancements for weekend and bank holiday hours.

- 26 days annual leave plus public/bank holidays, rising to 31 days after 5 years (pro-rata for part-time).
