Permanent / part-time position of 24.5 hours per week at Tynedale House, Blyth.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook meals for residents, including special diets.
  • Use and maintain catering tools and equipment.
  • Ensure health and safety standards and manual handling procedures.
  • Work 7-hour shifts on a 2-week rota: Mon, Tues, Sat, Sun – and Wed, Thu, Fri.

Qualifications

  • Basic food hygiene certificate.
  • Knowledge of catering tasks and equipment.
  • Knowledge of health & safety and manual handling training.
  • Relevant kitchen experience (food preparation, cooking).
  • Willingness to learn to prepare meals for specialised diets.

Pay and Hours

  • Starting salary £13.26 per hour (£25,583–£25,989 FTE).
  • Payable enhancements for weekend and bank holiday hours.

  • 26 days annual leave plus public/bank holidays, rising to 31 days after 5 years (pro-rata for part-time).
