Team Manager (Social Work)

What makes the role unique? As a Team Manager you will oversee and get the best out of a locality team of social workers and care managers. The team will be linked closely to primary care, and the core element of the role is to lead on providing excellent support to social care clients within your area. You will be part of a larger Care and Support service covering the whole of Northumberland with strong management and peer support in the role.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee a locality team of social workers and care managers and ensure high standards of service provision to clients.
- Motivate the team to high levels of performance and manage staff workload and workflows effectively.
- Provide supervision and appraisal of team members.
- Lead safeguarding of adults and support service development where necessary.
- Manage the delegated health‑and‑social‑care budget for the locality.
- Assist with training and personal development opportunities for staff.
Qualifications
- Degree in Social Work and registration with Social Work England.
- Post‑qualifying experience (e.g., PG Certificate modules).
- Experience supervising or mentoring staff.
- Strong leadership skills and a flexible approach to working across the County.
- Ability to link team activities to improve quality assurance standards.
- Valid UK driving licence and a car for work purposes (or ownership of a car).
