Looking for a hands-on role where you can make a real difference to people’s lives? Our Home Improvement Service is looking for an Adaptation and Repair Technician to deliver practical, high-quality minor adaptations and repairs that help vulnerable residents live safely and independently at home.

You’ll be part of a supportive and busy team, working across the county to provide timely, preventative solutions, often at the point where they can make the biggest impact, working closely with service users and professionals. This role is permanent and full time (37 hours).

Salary – NCC Band 5 £28,598 – £31,022.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver minor adaptations and repair services in service users’ homes.
  • Carry out home safety checks and identify practical solutions to reduce risk.
  • Work closely with service users, families and professionals (including Occupational Therapists) to agree appropriate solutions.
  • Plan and manage your own workload across multiple sites.
  • Maintain accurate records using handheld and digital systems.
  • Work safely at all times, including lone working across a range of environments.

Qualifications

  • Relevant trade qualification (Level 3 in e.g. joinery, plumbing, building maintenance) or equivalent experience.
  • Experience of carrying out repairs and practical works in domestic properties.
  • Knowledge of health and safety requirements relevant to the role.
  • Ability to work independently, including travel across the county.
