We are looking for a passionate, organised and proactive Skills & Employability Advisor to join our Business Northumberland Team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of Northumberland residents by coordinating employment support that helps people overcome barriers, develop skills and secure sustainable employment.

As part of the workforce development programme, you will join a collaborative and ambitious team delivering a locally focused talent pipeline aligned to the workforce needs of the QTS Data Centre development, connecting residents to real employment opportunities while supporting workforce planning, candidate readiness and long-term talent sustainability. You'll play an important role in supporting inclusive economic growth, reducing barriers to employment and creating opportunities that benefit people, businesses and communities in Northumberland.

You will lead the coordination of the QTS Jobs Platform, manage a pipeline of referrals and collaborate with partners to progress residents who are looking for work. Providing tailored one-to-one support to residents, you will help them build confidence, develop skills and move closer to employment. Working closely with employers, partners and community organisations, you will identify training and job opportunities, support residents with employment preparation, and match individuals to vacancies that align with their skills, aspirations and local labour market demand. You will also provide in-work support to help people sustain and progress in employment while maintaining accurate records and contributing to programme targets and outcomes.

We're seeking someone who is enthusiastic about helping people achieve their potential and committed to delivering excellent customer support. You will be a skilled advisor who can build trust and motivate people from a wide range of backgrounds, with strong communication, organisational and relationship-building skills. You'll be knowledgeable about employability support, skills development and labour market opportunities, able to manage a busy caseload, work effectively with employers and partners, and find practical solutions that help people overcome barriers and achieve sustainable employment outcomes.

Requiring a blend of office, outreach and home working this role is based at County Hall and will involve regular site working at QTS Data Centre, Cambois in addition to community locations across Northumberland. Use of your own transport and travel throughout the county will be required.
