We have an exciting opportunity for an Armed Forces Case Worker. The purpose of this role is to provide overall direct support and advice to the Armed Forces Community and their families in Northumberland in relation to support services available and housing options.
The successful candidate will:
- Be responsible for providing advice and signposting for debt, rent arrears, council tax arrears as well as access to mental health support and employability.
- Offer one-to-one advice and outreach support in relation to housing, resettlement, training, education, employment, benefits, and other issues.
- Be expected to execute Northumberland County Council's safeguarding protocols and develop good working partnerships with all relevant agencies and stakeholders whilst providing relevant emotional support and advice to all clients and their families, especially in those cases which are particularly complex.
- Be an exceptional communicator with experience of networking and partnership working and possess up-to-date knowledge of the Armed Forces Covenant and relevant national Government documentation to ensure statutory obligations are fulfilled.
Requirements of the Job:
- An understanding of the current issues facing veterans. Therefore, it is essential you have experience of either serving in the Armed Forces or working within that environment.
- Valid UK driving license and access to transport.
- Exceptional IT skills, report writing and the ability to analyse and interpret complex data is essential to this role.
