Overview: The Occupational Therapy Service performance is consistently high, demonstrating the dedication of our staff group to providing a quality service to residents. The work is interesting and varied, giving you the opportunity to be involved with adults who are experiencing functional problems relating to physical disability, mental health difficulties and learning disability. The role involves visiting residents in their own home, assessing for and providing basic equipment and minor adaptations and confirming the appropriate completion of some major adaptations. Working in teams with a mix of Occupational Therapy Assistants, Technical Instructors, and qualified Occupational Therapists. We share office bases with the wider adult social care services, enabling us to work with Social Workers, Care Managers, Learning Disability Nurses and others from the MDT. The post holder will be based at Dene Park House, Northumberland, with the opportunity to work within a hybrid working model including agile from home and other NCC sites across the county as agreed with management.
Responsibilities:
- Visit residents in their own homes to assess needs and provide basic equipment and minor adaptations; confirm the appropriate completion of major adaptations where applicable.
- Collaborate in multidisciplinary teams with Occupational Therapy Assistants, Technical Instructors, and qualified Occupational Therapists.
- Engage with the wider adult social care services and MDT members, including Social Workers, Care Managers, and Learning Disability Nurses.
