Northumberland College is Ofsted Outstanding and is currently building a multi‑million, state of the art, new college campus in Ashington, due to open in 2026. The successful candidate will be based at the new college where a purpose‑built construction, housing, advanced manufacturing and engineering centre will be located. Curriculum spans technical, vocational further and higher education and includes large apprenticeship provision and dedicated centres for young people with SEND.

About The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join Education Partnership North East as a part‑time Lecturer in Plumbing. You will deliver high‑quality teaching and learning across a range of plumbing programmes, supporting learners from entry level through to advanced study. Working as part of a supportive and collaborative team, you will play an important role in ensuring that learners develop the technical skills, knowledge and behaviours required to progress into employment or further study.
Role Responsibilities
- Delivering high‑quality teaching, learning and assessment in Plumbing
- Planning and developing engaging lessons that meet the needs of all learners
- Supporting learner progress, achievement and positive destinations
- Embedding English, maths and employability skills within vocational delivery
- Maintaining safe, professional and industry‑standard workshop environments
- Contributing to quality improvement, curriculum development and team activities
Qualifications
- Level 3 qualification in Plumbing (or relevant discipline)
- Teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE/Cert Ed) or willingness to work towards
- GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths at Grade 4/C or above
Essential Skills & Experience
- Relevant industry experience within Plumbing
- Experience of teaching or training (or a strong willingness to develop teaching skills)
- Knowledge of current industry practices and standards
- Ability to motivate, engage and support a diverse range of learners
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity and learner wellbeing
