About The College
Northumberland College is Ofsted Outstanding and is currently building a multi-million, state of the art, new college campus in Ashington, due to open in 2026. The successful candidate will be based at the new college where a purpose-built construction, housing, advanced manufacturing and engineering centre will be located. Curriculum spans technical, vocational further and higher education and includes large apprenticeship provision and dedicated centres for young people with SEND.

About The Role
This role leads the coordination of inclusive learning support across the college, with a strong focus on high needs learners and funding compliance. You will take ownership of Annex 1 and E3 funding processes, ensuring accurate, timely submissions that protect funding. You will line manage and deploy learning mentors, ensuring support is targeted and effective. This is a strong opportunity to shape practice across curriculum areas and influence outcomes at scale. You will develop leadership experience, strengthen your knowledge of SEND systems, and work closely with curriculum, external agencies, and local authorities. You will use college systems such as ProMonitor and ProSolution to track support, evidence impact, and meet audit requirements.
Role Responsibilities
- Line manage and deploy inclusion mentors to meet learner need and monitor impact.
- Lead the completion and quality assurance of Annex 1 and E3 funding documentation.
- Support EHCP reviews and ensure support plans are accurate and effective.
- Work with curriculum teams to plan and adapt teaching for learners with SEND.
- Track, record, and report on support, progress, and outcomes using college systems.
Qualifications
- Minimum Level 3 Learning Support qualification or willingness to work towards.
- GCSE Maths and English grade A to C or equivalent.
- Safeguarding or willingness to achieve Award in Education and Training Level 3 or willingness to work towards.
Essential Skills And Experience
- Strong knowledge of SEND, including autism and specific learning difficulties.
- Experience working with EHCPs and high needs learners.
- Understanding of high needs funding and evidence requirements.
- Ability to analyse information and produce clear reports.
- Experience supporting staff to adapt practice for learners.
- Ability to plan and deliver targeted support strategies.
Desirable Skills And Experience
- Experience leading or managing a team.
- Experience of EHCP review meetings.
- Knowledge of exam access arrangements.
