Do you enjoy helping others succeed? Are you highly organised, practical and proactive? Bishop's Primary School is looking for a dedicated Personal Assistant to support one of our classroom teachers, helping to create an environment where outstanding teaching can thrive.
This is a unique opportunity to make a real difference behind the scenes. Unlike a traditional Teaching Assistant role, you will provide practical, administrative and physical support directly to the classroom teacher, enabling them to focus on delivering exceptional learning experiences for pupils.
Please note, this is not a teaching or classroom supervision role. The successful candidate will not be responsible for delivering lessons or managing pupil behaviour, allowing them to focus on supporting the teacher's professional duties.
This role is 18 hours per week, term time plus two additional days, on a one year fixed term contract.
Main Responsibilities- Preparing classrooms and learning resources ready for lessons.
- Printing, photocopying, laminating and organising teaching materials.
- Maintaining an inspiring, tidy and well-organised classroom environment.
- Managing classroom supplies and ensuring resources are readily available.
- Supporting with practical tasks throughout the school day, including setting up equipment and displays.
- Providing occasional practical support to pupils where appropriate, such as helping with coats or accompanying children around the school.
- Supporting the teacher with the day-to-day logistics of running a busy classroom.
- An excellent pension scheme with a generous employer contribution from the Trust.
- 24/7 access to our Employee Assistance Programme, providing confidential wellbeing and support services.
- Comprehensive mental health and wellbeing support for all staff through Dittolo.
- Access to The Nest, our childcare provision in Ashington and Newbiggin-by-the-Sea, offering both paid and free 30-hour places for eligible families.
- CPD opportunities with support from across the Trust.
- Gym membership discounts, with reduced rates at Sculpt Ashington and Places Leisure.
- Eligibility for a Blue Light Card, giving Trust staff exclusive discounts at major retailers including Apple, JD Sports and TUI.
If you're looking for a rewarding support role where your organisation, initiative and practical skills will have a genuine impact every day, we'd love to hear from you!
