Teaching Assistant – Level 1 Based at Northstowe Secondary College.
Salary: The starting salary is Grade 4, Point 3 (£24,796 FTE).
Hours of work: 8:30am to 4pm Monday to Friday, with earlier finish 3:35pm one day per week. Full-time hours 32.5 hours per week; part-time (4 days) considered. Weeks per year: 39 weeks (term time plus training days).
We have an exciting opportunity for a kind, curious and hardworking individual to join our team of Teaching Assistants within the Northstowe Education Support Team (NEST), supporting students with additional needs both in and out of the classroom.
Responsibilities- Make a real difference to the positive experience of our students and their families.
- Work with teaching colleagues on practices that maximise impact in the classroom.
- Provide targeted support under the direction of the SENDCO and/or classroom teacher.
- Set high expectations contributing to students being inspired, motivated and challenged to achieve their best.
- Good educational background and evidence of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Experience working in a similar role within a secondary school.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills to communicate effectively and professionally with staff, students, parents and others.
- Thorough understanding of child protection and safeguarding matters.
