About Northstowe Arts Northstowe is a new town, still finding its feet, and Northstowe Arts has been here since the beginning, helping a community take shape. We run events, bring people together, work with artists, and try to make this feel like somewhere, not just somewhere to live. We’re looking for an Events Producer to join us on a freelance basis, roughly one day a week, to help deliver our programme and grow it. The headline events are Light Up Northstowe, our winter lantern festival, and the Midsummer Festival. But the role is broader than that: you’ll be thinking about what the programme could become, not just keeping what exists running smoothly. It’s a freelance contract, 0.2 FTE over 12 months, and it’s the first time we’ve had dedicated events production support. That means there’s real scope to shape how the role works, and to make the case for it continuing.
What you’ll be doing
- Leading on the production of our main events: project plans, logistics, artists and suppliers, permissions, risk assessments, budgets, the works.
- Attending some strategic partnership meetings and representing NA.
- Looking for funding opportunities and helping make the case for investment in the programme.
- Keeping an eye on what’s happening in the wider sector and bringing ideas back in.
What we’re looking for
- You’ll need solid experience producing community events or festivals, the kind where you’re coordinating a lot of moving parts and something always needs problem‑solving on the day.
- You’ll be comfortable managing budgets and working independently, and you’ll genuinely care about community‑led creative work.
- Knowledge of the Cambridgeshire area is a bonus, as is experience working with freelance artists or supporting funding bids, but these aren’t dealbreakers.
