We are seeking motivated and detail-oriented Mechanical Engineering Graduates to join our team.

This programme offers valuable hands-on experience in maintenance, troubleshooting, and operational efficiency of mechanical systems and equipment used in the business operations.

Successful candidates will work closely with Location Managers at one of our main sites, gaining insights into the day-to-day operations.

Graduates will take part in our two-year graduate development programme to develop technical, interpersonal, commercial and management skills.

Northstone’s 2026 Graduate Programme will commence at the beginning of September 2026.

Key areas of responsibility

  • Learn & understand the operation and maintenance requirements of our mobile and fixed plant and equipment.
  • Involved in process projects that target sustainability and/or efficiency improvements.
  • Ensure we maintain and progress our high health, safety and environmental standards.
  • Co-ordinate and oversee maintenance operations under the guidance of location management.
  • Ability to communicate information and plans effectively to both employees and contractors.

Candidates should ideally possess

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • Team player with a positive attitude.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Proactive, organised, results-driven and self-motivated.
  • Knowledge of and strong commitment to safety practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically in high-pressure situations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • An ability to operate to strict timelines/deadlines in order to produce results.
