Northstar is a global design and sourcing house for footwear and apparel brands. The UK office is based in Leeds with the global head office in LA. We work with top brands and retailers around the world to build innovative products and create brand growth opportunities. Northstar offers end-to-end design and production services, including design and development, sourcing, and quality assurance, all backed by a global team of experts.
We are looking for a creative individual with an approachable attitude. In this role, you will assist the design team in developing collections across Ladies, Mens and Childrens footwear. This role requires creativity, problem-solving skills, and technical knowledge in footwear construction.
- Design: Assisting the senior designers in trend/inspiration research and creating mood boards to show clients our direction for the seasons, contribute to seasonal themes.
- Complete Competitor shops for our customers, to identify opportunities in their ranges.
- CAD line-art/colour-ups/AI render projects as needed.
- Adding materials to styles, projects as needed.
- PLM BOM/spec completion.
Mail: Receive and unpack mail, sample shipments. Notify designers and account managers when shipments arrive via in person and slack. Create and send all international and domestic shipments.
Materials: Material Library Organisation. Looking for new materials/innovation.
Qualifications:
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
- Strong research and development skills, with the ability to identify emerging trends and technologies.
- Product development skills, with experience in taking products from concept to production.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Required experience, skills, and education:
- Strong proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Creative Suite.
- Proficiency with MS Office, including MS Excel.
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate goals and objectives.
- Ability to travel.
