Responsibilities:
- Management and coordination of all production floor operations including safety and morale of employees, molding and assembly operations, housekeeping, and equipment and building maintenance to improve the plant's performance in safety, cost, delivery, and quality.
- Oversee the receipt and movement of released product to all necessary production, inspection, and test areas as subassemblies or end items manufactured.
- Accountable for the overall production plan delivery, providing input to shipment schedules, plans, and forecasts as knowledge of production status develops.
- Identify bottlenecks in the production flow and ensure that necessary labor, material, or support is applied to relieve the bottleneck applying lean manufacturing systems.
Major Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize and direct the manufacturing operations to maximize the return on assets employed.
- Develop and accomplish actions which minimize manufacturing costs through effective utilization of manpower, equipment, facilities, materials, and capital.
- Implement manufacturing strategies and action plans to ensure that the operations support Lean Practices (PMA, 5's, Problem Solving, Lean Line Design, etc.).
- Establish group and individual accountabilities within departments and collaborate with other areas for problem solving and cost reduction.
- Oversee production control activities (General production output, scrap reporting, shop order reconciliation, etc.) to ensure material flow through production in support of the production plans to satisfy business goals and customer demands.
- Evaluate the performance of personnel in the department and review with Operations Manager, recommending training requirements and personnel changes to meet company needs and objectives.
- Support Industrial Engineering in the launch of new programs following the GDPIM process.
- Support LPO in new projects from the plant perspective to meet customer & budget requirements and transitioning them into operations.
- Develop and implement methods to improve productivity within established payroll and expense budgets.
- Identify needed labor continuously and ensure that necessary effort is applied in the production area to ensure correct flow of product to meet production schedule.
- Ensure compliance with HS&E policies & procedures by manufacturing personnel.
Job Requirements & Qualifications:

- Experienced in scheduling adherence (% of compliance of the production plan).
- High energy level required to lead a 24/7 manufacturing operation schedule and to develop input and decision making as part of the escalation process.
Education and Experience:
- Degree in Plastics Technology or Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering with extensive technical and supervisory background in a high volume plastic injection molding operation.
- Minimum of 10 years supervisory experience in manufacturing management or related field.
- Knowledge of planning, budgeting, and operations in a production environment.
- Full knowledge of Manufacturing Requirements Planning (MRP) is required, along with procedural knowledge and good people-management skills.
- Technical background in the automotive industry highly desirable.
- Experience in implementing 5S, Six Sigma, and Black Belt initiatives.
