We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our growing engineering team. This role blends hands-on field work with office-based system design, offering exposure to a range of complex, high-impact HVACR projects. You will be responsible for designing mechanical systems, performing technical calculations, assisting with sales and construction support, and contributing to innovative green initiatives. Ideal candidates are technically proficient, curious, and eager to grow within a niche industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed heat load calculations for refrigeration and process cooling systems
- Assess existing mechanical systems and recommend expansion or replacement strategies
- Create CAD and 3D models of mechanical systems, piping layouts, and equipment schematics
- Select equipment and coordinate with vendors to specify components
- Support the sales team in project design and pricing efforts
- Provide technical insight and design intent support during project construction
- Participate in field site visits (approx. 20–30% travel within New England; no overnight travel)
- Manage and track multiple projects in various stages of design and implementation
Qualifications
Must-Have Skills & Experience
- Proficiency in AutoCAD 2025 and Revit 2025
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel
- Solid understanding of thermodynamics and fluid dynamics
- Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with refrigeration and piping systems
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to juggle multiple priorities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including client-facing interactions
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative, cross-functional environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering
- Experience creating heat load and mass flow calculations
