In this role, you’ll play a key part in supporting our members and helping to shape the future of our Offshore & Renewables portfolio. You’ll work closely with our Underwriters to nurture and grow existing relationships, manage renewals, and contribute to new business opportunities within the sector. Collaboration is central to what we do: you’ll partner with our loss prevention and claims teams to spot emerging risks, strengthen coverage for our members, and ensure they receive clear, confident guidance when navigating complex contracts. What will you be doing?

  • Underwriting and renewal of all accounts within the sector under the overall direction of the head of underwriting, Offshore & Renewables.
  • Reporting on all matters to the underwriting team, underwriting director or head of underwriting as appropriate.
  • The analysis of underwriting, claims and loss prevention trends within the sector.
  • Identifying and supporting team pressure points and to arrange workloads accordingly.
  • Receiving enquiries, information and carrying out additional research using available information from internal and external sources.
  • Identifying and developing new business for the sector.
  • Ensuring Contract Review service is maintained.
  • Share best practice and information relevant to supporting Members/customers and providing them with excellent service.
  • Working with underwriting assistants to ensure the prompt and accurate production and processing of entry documentation and debiting.

About you

  • Evidence of ability to work positively as a team and to empower colleagues.
  • Efficient & effective administration skills, demonstrating an attention to detail concerning work produced.
  • Highly proactive: the ability to lead by example.
  • Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to demonstrate sound written and verbal communication skills.
  • Evidence of ‘owning’ Member and/or customer relationships and high performance in relationship management.
  • Technical underwriting skills.
  • Experience of underwriting P&I or equivalent in-house experience within industry.
  • A good knowledge of marine insurance, in particular P&I cover.
