Birtenshaw is looking to appoint an experienced SEN Teacher, with at least 2 years teaching experience, to work within our school in Fazakerley.

Birtenshaw School Merseyside is an independent special school offering education for children aged 3-19 who have an EHCP (Education Health Care Plan), for pupils with significant physical impairment, complex health needs, learning disability and/or Autistic Spectrum Conditions. About The Role:
- To maintain an up-to-date understanding of Special Educational Needs (SEN) principles, definitions and basic practice.
- To effectively co-ordinate the work across the school in at least one given subject or key skill area as agreed with the Head Teacher.
- To communicate and consult with parents/carers and other appropriate people, preparing reports for and participating in child focused meetings, as required.
- To recognise, value and raise the achievement of children.
- To use effective teaching strategies and lesson structures to deliver the curriculum.
- To promote social and emotional development, positive behaviour and, where appropriate to the age group taught, to prepare for adulthood.
