The Opportunity: This is more than just a job; it’s a mission. We are looking for an experienced Business Development and Capture Manager to support a significant surge in opportunities and growth across our Cyber and Intelligence business. Reporting to the Head of Business Development (Cyber and Intelligence), you will lead the identification, qualification, development and execution of capture strategies that win new business.
Our UK Cyber and Intelligence team combines modern software engineering with deep expertise in defence and national security. Our customers rely on us to understand their mission, protect sensitive information and deliver technology at scale and pace. In this role, you will directly contribute to programmes that support their digital transformation and long‑term capability.
Role Responsibilities:
- Support the Head of Business Development to identify, qualify and develop capture strategies for new opportunities.
- Lead all aspects of Business Development and Capture Management for assigned pursuits, including internal gate reviews.
- Work across functions to build compelling, cost‑effective capture plans that maximise win probability and align with resource and financial plans.
- Develop business cases that justify investment and strengthen competitive positioning.
- Build strong collaborations with industrial partners to increase win probability on key opportunities.
- Lead or contribute to pipeline reviews, pursuit qualification, capture activity and proposal development.
- Act as Capture Manager for strategic opportunities across the Cyber and Intelligence portfolio.
- Ensure capability synergies, lessons learned and market insights are shared across the wider BD and Capture community.
Candidate Requirements:
Essential- Minimum five years’ experience in product, system, service or solution business development within defence, security or government sectors.
- Strong track record of identifying, qualifying and securing new business.
- Proven ability to develop and execute successful capture plans.
- Experience working with diverse defence and security customers.
- Excellent communication, relationship‑building and influencing skills.
- Capture training such as Shipley Associates Business Development.
- Experience managing complex, strategic opportunities within the defence or national security ecosystem.
