This is more than just a job; it’s a mission. As our Site Security Controller for our Cheltenham estate, you’ll play a critical role in protecting our people, information, and facilities. You will be responsible for maintaining our physical and information security policies and ensuring our Government-sponsored facilities remain accredited, compliant, and continually strengthened. You’ll work closely with teams across the business — from Operations and Facilities to Programme teams and senior stakeholders — providing expert guidance, influencing decisions, and championing a strong security culture across the Cheltenham sites. This role is central to our ability to deliver secure, mission-focused solutions to our customers, and offers the opportunity to lead, shape, and elevate the security posture of one of our most important locations.
What You’ll Do
- Act as the security lead for all Cheltenham-based Northrop Grumman UK sites, overseeing physical and information security standards.
- Build strong relationships with customer and partner Security Advisors, ensuring all accreditation requirements are understood, maintained, and proactively updated.
- Lead communication and engagement on security matters across Operations, Facilities, H&S, project teams, and business units.
- Provide expert security advice to stakeholders and teams, influencing decision-making and supporting secure business operations.
- Manage the Risk Management and Accreditation registers for the Cheltenham estate.
- Maintain and evolve Security Operating Procedures, delivering insights and recommendations to leadership.
- Act as the on-site lead for Business Continuity and Business Resilience activities.
- Mentor colleagues on security best practice, championing a proactive and positive security culture.
What We’re Looking For
- Significant experience in physical and information security within Defence or HM Government environments.
- Strong understanding of NPSA principles, accreditation guidelines, and GovS 007.
- Experience working with x-Government partners and representing organisational security interests to HMG bodies.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to tailor messages to different audiences.
- Experience conducting security investigations and producing detailed reports.
- Proven ability to identify, assess, and treat risks.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment.
