We are seeking a Project Support Officer to join our departmental PMO, helping support a range of internal and customer projects that play a vital role in delivering complex defence and national security outcomes. You will work closely with the Head of PMO, Programme Manager and Project Managers, applying established project management processes and ensuring smooth coordination of project activities.

This role is ideal for someone who brings strong organisation, attention to detail and a proactive approach, and who is excited about a career in project management within a collaborative and mission‑driven environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide consistent administrative and coordination support across the project lifecycle.

  • Maintain and update essential project documentation, including schedules, planning materials, cost information and meeting records.

  • Support the production and distribution of project reports and performance updates.

  • Coordinate project‑related activities such as workshops, meetings and stakeholder sessions.

  • Prepare agendas, capture actions and ensure follow‑up items are delivered.

  • Support risk and issue tracking and communicate updates to stakeholders.

  • Maintain project management systems and ensure accurate record‑keeping.

  • Assist with financial tracking, including invoice processing and monitoring budgetary information.

We are looking for:

  • Experience in an administrative or coordination role, ideally within project management.

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, with any exposure to project management tools such as Primavera P6 or COBRA being beneficial.

  • Ability to collect, manage and share data accurately and consistently.

  • Experience maintaining organised and structured records.

  • Confident written and verbal communicator who works well in a collaborative team.
