As a Field Service Engineer you will be responsible for the installation, commissioning and repair of complex systems in the UK and worldwide. Reporting to the Operations Manager and a linchpin of the service engineering team. You’ll have the chance to work on key systems on-board Royal Navy ships and submarines. You’ll be at the forefront of representing Northrop Grumman to our customers and end-users.

Responsibilities:

To perform service tasks across the UK and worldwide when required.
-
Install, integrate and test existing and new products in support of programme execution.

Conduct installation audits and generate installation audit reports for Customer acceptance.
-
Diagnose / fix issues on naval platforms in accordance with in-service support contracts.

Support Factory Acceptance Tests.

To support other engineers with technical issues.

Regular travel within the UK (predominantly Portsmouth and Barrow-in-Furness). Your travel will be supported by the use of a company car.

To take reasonable care for their own health and safety and that of other persons around you.

As required, provide technical support to customers and/or other engineers.

To be aware of and comply with Company Standards of Conduct and all relevant statutory requirements.

To carry out any other reasonable management request.

We are looking for:

Experienced field service engineers.

Understanding of the defence environment highly desirable.

Experience of practical fault-finding on complex equipment.

PC configuration experience with networking and IT skills.

Familiarity with maritime systems such as radar.

Knowledge of control systems and networking highly desirable.

Full UK Driving Licence.

The ability to manage their own time and work effectively on their own.

Someone confident and able to represent Northrop Grumman to our customers and users.
Security clearance:
You must be able to gain and maintain the relevant UK Government security clearance in line with the job role (SC). Our requirement team is on hand to answer any questions and we will guide you through the process.
