My client are a Hertfordshire based Housing Association operating across Hertfordshire and a number of surrounding counties. They manage thousands of homes and employ a large number of staff across their schemes in the area. They have recently re-shaped the IT function and been through the implementation of Azure to better support their network of employees and residents. As such, they are looking to hire a Platform Team Manager to join the team. This person will be responsible for evolving the design and architecture, overseeing, and managing the client’s Azure and on-premises infrastructure. This individual will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of a complex network that connects over the sites.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment.

Key responsibilities:
  • Evolving the design and architecture, overseeing, and managing the Azure and on-premises infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability.
  • Manage and maintain a complex network that connects over the sites, ensuring seamless connectivity and communication across all locations.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to the engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
  • Utilise excellent problem-solving skills to address and resolve any issues that arise within the infrastructure and network.
  • Manage a team of engineers, providing mentorship, support, and performance evaluations to ensure the team operates at its best.
  • Oversee infrastructure-related projects from inception to completion, ensuring that they are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to align infrastructure initiatives.
Skills & Experience:
  • Proven experience in designing, managing, and maintaining Azure and on-premises infrastructure.
  • Strong technical background with expertise in cloud computing, networking, and infrastructure management.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing issues.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience in managing and mentoring a team of engineers.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment, handling multiple priorities and adapting to changing requirements.
  • Experience in end to end project management in infrastructure projects.
Qualifications:
  • Degree or equivalent professional qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect or Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator.
