My client are a leading trade supplier based in the Manchester area. As part of a drive to improve the quality and usability of their data to enable smoother business functionality, they are looking to bring in a Data Developer on a permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity central to a key strategic objective of the business.
The Data Developer is a key part of the IT Team and is responsible for designing and developing operational dashboards using PowerBI and the broader Power Platform suite.
Key responsibilities & accountabilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain PowerBI reports and dashboards to support business operations whilst providing actionable insights.
- Develop, optimise, and manage SQL databases, ensuring data integrity and performance.
- Manage and support the operational tools (e.g. Access Data Factory) to streamline processes and enhance data and operational workflows, including developing and maintaining the ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to integrate data from various sources.
- Collaborate with the software development team to integrate systems and reporting requirements with that of the end users.
- Co-ordinate responses to requests for data from stakeholders.
- Be accountable for IT tickets raised and assigned to the role, ensuring response and resolution timescales are upheld and taking ownership of various reporting alerts.
- Assist in the development and execution of the company’s data strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions to enhance data quality and accessibility.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and deliver solutions that meet business requirements.
Candidate specification:
- An IT professional with a strong technical background and an outcome-focused approach.
- Good knowledge of applications, specifications, data, and infrastructure.
- Project planning & management skills.
- Extensive experience in data development.
- Ability to communicate to tech-literate and non-technical staff.
- Experience of working within fast-paced environments.
- Experience of similar roles or tasks.
- Experienced with SQL/T-SQL and preferably PHP, JSON, and Rest APIs.
- Knowledge of cloud technologies such as Azure, including Azure Data Factory/Fabric and Microsoft365.
