The opportunity

Northreach is partnering with a specialist property finance lender that provides flexible, commercial bridging and short-term lending solutions to professional investors, developers, and intermediaries. This business prides itself on fast decision‑making, strong service delivery and collaborative relationships with brokers and introducers.

We are seeking a Bridging Underwriter to join the underwriting team. This role is well suited to someone with experience in property‑backed finance who wants to take ownership of cases, apply sound credit judgement and play a key part in delivering efficient and high‑quality lending decisions.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite bridging and other short‑term property finance applications in line with credit policy
• Assess borrower profiles, property security, valuation reports, financials and exit strategies
• Evaluate risk and structure lending propositions within accepted guidelines
• Prepare credit assessments and recommendations with clear rationale
• Review supporting documentation, legal packs and valuation reports for completeness and accuracy
• Manage cases from submission through to approval and drawdown
• Liaise with brokers, valuers, solicitors, and internal stakeholders to progress cases
• Maintain accurate underwriting records and adhere to service level expectations
• Ensure compliance with internal policy and regulatory standards

Requirements

• Previous underwriting experience within bridging or short‑term property lending
• Strong financial analysis and credit assessment skills
• Understanding of UK property valuation considerations and lending risk
• Ability to make balanced, commercial credit decisions under pressure
• Clear communicator, able to engage with external partners and internal teams
• Organised with the ability to manage a pipeline of active cases
