One of our innovative biotech clients is seeking a Senior RA/Scientist – CAR-T Cell Therapy to join their growing R&D team in Oxford, UK. This full-time, permanent position offers the opportunity to contribute to the development of next-generation CAR-T cell therapies designed to tackle solid tumours and other high-value oncology indications.

The ideal candidate will have recently completed a PhD in CAR-T research, immuno-oncology, or a related field and will be eager to apply their academic expertise to real-world therapeutic development in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

The Role

  • Design and execute in vitro functional assays (e.g. cytotoxicity, cytokine release, proliferation) to assess CAR-T activity.
  • Culture and expand primary human T cells using aseptic techniques.
  • Develop and validate flow cytometry panels for immunophenotyping.
  • Support high-throughput screening of CAR constructs for potency and specificity.
  • Maintain detailed electronic lab records and ensure data integrity.
  • Analyse and present results to cross-functional R&D teams.
  • Collaborate with scientists and engineers across discovery, translational, and process development functions.
  • Contribute to lab operations, SOP development, and mentoring of junior staff.

The Profile

  • PhD in Immunology, Cell Biology, or related field with research focused on CAR-T, T cell engineering, or immuno-oncology.
  • Hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture and immunological assays.
  • Skilled in flow cytometry and data analysis tools (FlowJo, GraphPad Prism).
  • Strong experimental design, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communicator with meticulous attention to detail.
