The Position In this hands-on IT Facilities role, you will support the wider IT Team with activities ranging from routine checks to long term project work. The successful candidate will have a good understanding and keen interest in IT, working with the IT Operations/Support and Real Estate & Facilities Management (REFM) teams.
Responsibilities:
- Installation and maintenance of IT/AV kit around the estate
- Comms and Patch room work: racking equipment, patching devices, etc.
- Routine checks including: IT stock checks, basic network checks, AV/VC functionality, ensuring meeting rooms are fit for purpose etc.
- Ownership of AV spaces and managing the AV for events
- Managing and organising office spaces and store rooms
- Maintaining a hardware asset register
- Disposal of old equipment
- Assisting with various projects including upgrading IT hardware across the estate, setting up new offices/desks, executing large office moves and routine desk moves, installing Wi-Fi networks
Requirements:
- General 2-4 years of experience in a similar position providing IT support.
- Excellent team player with the ability to positively encourage and influence others.
- Ability to multi-task with strong attention to detail.
- Enjoy working in a fast-paced, agile environment and resolve unplanned incidents quickly.
- Outstanding communication skills, including the ability to effectively present information in both technical and non-technical terms.
- Strong customer service focus for both technical and non-technical organisation team members.
- Ability to maintain a professional service level.
- Travel in the United Kingdom for multiple day projects involving facilities builds, renovations/infrastructure technology upgrades, group desk relocations, etc.
- Technical IT troubleshooting skills: ability to critically think and solve problems independently until escalation may be required.
- Experience in setting up, maintaining, and troubleshooting office devices (Laptops, smartphones, printers, etc.) in a Microsoft 365 environment.
- Networking fundamentals – basic troubleshooting of connectivity on workstations and servers, preferably in a Cisco Meraki environment.
- Experience in videoconferencing solutions and end-user support (Teams, Webex, etc.)
