We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Assistant Accountant to join our finance team. This role will support financial reporting, project cost control, and month-end processes while ensuring compliance with accounting standards. It is an excellent opportunity for a part-qualified ACCA/CIMA candidate looking to develop within a dynamic, project-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts
- Monitor and control project costs, including labour, materials, and overheads
- Track, analyse, and reconcile project expenses against budgets on a weekly and monthly basis
- Prepare accounts receivable (AR) month-end journal entries, financial analyses, and account reconciliations
- Support month-end close processes
- Process sales invoices and credit notes accurately and in a timely manner
- Provide administrative support for accounts receivable activities
- Ensure all reporting and processing deadlines are consistently met
- Respond to financial information requests and assist with audits
- Review financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal financial policies
- Perform project and margin analysis to support business decision-making
- Assist the Finance Manager with management accounting tasks as required
- Carry out additional duties as directed by the Global Finance Manager
About You
- Part-qualified ACCA or CIMA (or actively working towards qualification)
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes
- Experience with project accounting or cost tracking is highly desirable
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines
- Proficient in Excel and accounting systems
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
