Overview
The Regional Project Manager Data Center Security Systems is responsible for the successful delivery of data center security systems projects, including new builds, retrofits, and site expansions, within their assigned region. This is an internal (in-house) project management role, focused on managing internal delivery responsibilities while coordinating closely with data center operations teams, colocation providers, and selected value-added resellers (VARs). This role is not responsible for supplier-side project management activities, which remain the responsibility of external partners. While the role will primarily support either the EMEA or AMER region, there may be occasions where support is required across the broader global team to meet delivery demands. This position requires a highly self-motivated individual who is comfortable working independently and managing multiple concurrent projects.
Responsibilities
- Working closely with Data Center Security Operations, Data Center Operations, and colocation providers to identify security system requirements.
- Developing security system designs and providing marked-up design drawings to selected VARs.
- Reviewing quotations, controlling project costs, approving expenditures, and ensuring contractual compliance.
- Attending regular project meetings and visiting sites as required throughout the project lifecycle.
- Managing project plans by reviewing designs, specifications, schedules, and change impacts, and recommending corrective actions as needed.
- Maintaining project schedules by monitoring progress, coordinating activities, and resolving issues.
- Conducting project closeout and site sign-off by traveling to site, ensuring installations meet expected standards, and identifying deficiencies for VAR remediation.
- Keeping stakeholders informed of key milestones and major project developments to ensure timely installation and smooth transition into security operations centers in preparation for site go-live.
Required Experience & Skills
- Strong background in Access Control and CCTV system design.
- Demonstrated design expertise with Lenel OnGuard and Milestone CCTV systems (required).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a data center-centric security systems or project management role.
- Previous experience with system installation and/or technical support is an advantage.
- Ability to manage multiple projects across their full lifecycle, from concept and design through implementation, testing, commissioning, and handover.
- Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned region to attend project kick-offs, coordination meetings, and site sign-offs.
- Excellent organizational skills with clear, professional communication abilities.
- Highly self-motivated, able to work independently with minimal supervision, and comfortable managing competing priorities.
