Weekly Hours: 42.5 hours, Monday to Friday plus weekends on a rota
Role summary
As the Yard Controller, you take our service to customers, delivering a great experience with a can-do attitude and a full UK or EU driving licence. No previous experience is required. You will be part of a busy branch team, supporting rentals and the workshop, ensuring the site is clean, safe and secure, and delivering vehicles in busy periods. You will explain vehicle documents and queries in a helpful and positive way, treat fleet vehicles with care, and help capture on- and off-hire condition to reduce financial risk to the business.
You will often be the face of Northgate Vehicle Hire for customers and contribute to a first-class customer experience. You will work closely with colleagues across rentals and the workshop while maintaining a high standard of reliability and service.
Responsibilities
- Support rentals and the workshop to operate smoothly at the branch
- Ensure the site is clean, safe, and secure
- Deliver vehicles during peak periods
- Explain vehicle details and documentation to customers, answering queries
- Maintain careful condition checks for on- and off-hire vehicles to manage financial risk
Qualifications & requirements
- Full UK or EU driving licence
- A positive, customer-focused attitude and the ability to provide excellent service
- Willingness to work on a rota including weekends
