In this role, you will lead the buying and procurement of complex engineering products and services from both UK and international suppliers. You will play a pivotal role in strategically sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing to drive cost efficiency, ensure high‑quality standards, and maintain delivery performance across critical manufacturing programs.
What you’ll be doing:
- Managing end‑to‑end procurement and sourcing activities across engineering categories
- Leading RFQs, tenders and supplier negotiations to achieve best value outcomes
- Developing and managing supplier performance, risk and continuous improvement
- Partnering with Engineering, Quality, Production and Programme teams
- Supporting bid activity and customer delivery commitments
- Maintaining supplier, cost and lead‑time data in SAP
- Ensuring compliance with export control and regulatory requirements
What we’re looking for:
- Proven experience in procurement, buying or strategic sourcing within engineering or manufacturing
- Strong commercial and negotiation skills
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications (desirable)
- Strong Excel and ERP/MRP system experience (SAP preferred)
- Knowledge of UK and international trade compliance (desirable)
Qualifications:
- Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering or similar
- Work on technically complex, high‑value procurement programmes
- Influence sourcing strategy and supplier performance
- Exposure to global supply markets
