As a Senior Radio System Engineer, you will play a key role within the Operational team of the Managed Radio Services contract to our customer, the Metropolitan Police. Supporting/delivering our mission critical Operational services you will be responsible for:
- Delivery of core Maintenance and Testing Functions
- Contributing towards a variety of Small/medium/large scale projects at various customer sites generally within the M25
Due to the nature of this role, the successful applicant must be able to obtain SC Level + NPPV checks process successfully. Operating hours are between 8am – 6pm, 37.5 hours per week.
What you’ll be doing:
- Routine Checks/Maintenance of a variety of Fixed Site radio Terminals
- Recording and documenting the progress of Upgrades across the Vehicle and Fixed site Radio Fleet using a variety of common software tools (ServiceNow, Microsoft Office) and manufacturer Specific Software
- Providing leadership for the Radio Engineering team
- Delivering Equipment to customer sites or 3rd party private premises in support of BAU Operational demands or Special Events as Required (Occasionally this will necessitate 24/7 activities)
- Undertaking Network Surveys – Walk and Drive surveys gathering Data and Subjective testing of Network Coverage
Due to strict security clearance requirements, we can only consider applicants that have lived in the UK for 5 consecutive years or longer.
Qualifications - What we’re looking for:
- Experience/Knowledge of Networked Technologies
- Strong System Diagnostics and Fault Finding Techniques
- Installations Experience
- RF (Radio Frequency) Related knowledge
- Past Involvement with Small/Medium Scale Projects
- Competency with Microsoft Office Applications (Specifically Excel)
- Some experience with database usage
- Excellent customer service skills
- Full UK Driving licence
