As an RPA Consultant for Emergency Services, you will drive digital transformation for police, fire, and organisations. Your work will enable frontline responders and control room staff to focus on critical incidents by automating repetitive, high-volume tasks, improving data accuracy, and ensuring compliance with public safety standards. You will collaborate with operational teams to deliver automation solutions that enhance service delivery, resilience, and public trust.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Engagement & Consultancy: Serve as a trusted advisor to police, fire, and emergency service clients, shaping automation roadmaps aligned with operational priorities and compliance requirements. Conduct discovery workshops and process assessments with control room, back-office, and frontline teams to identify automation opportunities. Translate operational challenges (e.g., incident reporting, data entry, evidence management) into robust RPA/AI solutions. Present demos, prototypes, and proofs of concept tailored to emergency services environments. Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to validate requirements, solution approaches, and delivery plans. Support change management and user adoption, recognising the unique culture and pressures of emergency services.
- Technical Delivery: Design, build, test, and deploy automation workflows using RPA and AI tools (Power Automate, UiPath, Blue Prism, Automation Anywhere, Python scripts, API-based automation, etc.). Integrate AI/LLM-powered capabilities (e.g., intelligent document processing, workflow automation, incident triage, and data extraction from police/fire systems). Develop reusable automation components and templates for emergency services use cases. Use GitHub, GitHub Actions, and GitHub Copilot for version control, CI/CD, and collaborative development. Ensure all solutions comply with public safety data governance, security, and audit requirements (e.g., CJIS, GDPR, local policies). Troubleshoot, enhance, and support automation solutions in live operational environments, including 24/7 support contexts. Provide post-implementation support, monitoring, and optimisation of deployed bots.
- Collaboration & Delivery Governance: Work closely with Delivery Managers, Business Consultants, and operational stakeholders to ensure on-time, high-quality delivery. Establish and maintain RPA governance, standards, and documentation for sustainability, auditability, and regulatory compliance. Provide estimates, assist in solution design documentation, and ensure traceability of requirements. Support pre-sales and bid teams with effort sizing, solution proposals, and technical responses to tenders.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay current with emerging automation, AI, and public safety technologies, and share best practices with clients and internal teams. Champion automation and AI adoption within emergency services, supporting digital workforce initiatives (e.g., “digital employees” in police/fire directories). Mentor junior team members and deliver training/knowledge transfer to client teams for sustainable automation.

Experience with REST APIs, JSON, web services, and API-based automation. Proficiency with GitHub, Git branching strategies, GitHub Actions, and GitHub Copilot. Strong communication skills to explain technical concepts to non-technical operational staff. Ability to run workshops, capture requirements, and produce clear, accessible documentation.
