Administrative Duties

  • Ensure telephone enquiries are dealt with in a courteous and timely manner and assist patients who are having problems with their referral.
  • Assist patients with queries on the telephone.
  • Carry out summarising of patient records (training will be given).
  • Deal with the processing of insurance medicals and reports.
  • Provide relief cover for Results Clerk/Prescriptions Clerk (training will be given).
  • Oversee one area of QOF.
  • Participate in providing holiday/sickness cover for other members of the admin team.
  • Coding of correspondence (training given).

We are looking for an experienced Administrator to join our team. This is a busy Practice and you will be very involved in patient care, from organising appointments, working closely with our clinical triage team, coding letters, dealing with private work, dealing with general queries, organising paperwork for the clinical team, ringing patients to book in to specialist clinics, handling the movement of patient records, scanning and summarising (training given). The role is for 30 hours a week. However, flexibility is essential as you will also be expected to cover for holidays and sickness. Pay rate is competitive and you will receive 6 weeks holiday plus bank holiday (pro rata). Previous experience as an Administrator in General Practice or another busy reception environment is essential.

We are heavily involved in our Primary Care network and work closely with the other Practices. Northgate surgery is a training practice with a wide variety of different students.
