Meadowfields Care Home – Senior Care Assistant

  • 24 Hours per week available : Permanent contract
  • Zero Hour (Bank Contract) available

The Senior Care Assistant will report to the Care Manager and be responsible for all aspects of the physical and emotional care of clients and provide leadership of the team, including the supervision and training of staff. The role will also involve providing close liaison with professional agents.

We seek a well-organised, adept at allocating and delegating work appropriately, proven ability to lead and supervise others, and good care understanding. You\’re trained, or willing to teach, administer medication, and contribute to, monitor, and implement changes that improve residents\’ outcomes.

Duties will include:

  • To take responsibility for the home and ensure it meets company objectives in the absence of the Care Manager.
  • To administer and record medication as and when required in accordance with the Medication Policy.
  • To give a daily report to the person in charge at the end of each shift concerning the care delivered to the residents noting any changes.
  • To maintain liaison with professionals in a multi-agency approach.
  • To provide supervision and support to the staff team.
  • To participate in the planning of care programmes and prepare care review reports.
  • To assess the care practice of all staff, ensuring the objectives of the home are met.
  • To supervise and be involved in all aspects of the holistic care of the resident group.
  • To maintain administration and monitoring systems that comply with legal requirements.
  • To ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures.
  • To work flexible hours to meet the needs of the home.
  • To attend staff training courses and meetings.

The successful Senior Care Assistant will have:

  • Medication Experience and all the relevant certifications.
  • Own Transport or ability to get to work, public transport is present.
  • Demonstrate Leadership Skills
  • Flexibility in shift patterns
  • Working Towards NVQ Level 3 or Equivalent

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: Β£13.90 per hour

Expected hours: 24 per week
